We once again found ourselves in Santa Barbara visiting great friends. This time the occasion was a birthday party and baby shower rolled into one. We have been honored to be God parents for the first time so we could not miss the events. Thankfully this was not one of those baby showers that the men have to partake in. While the ladies oohed and ahed over clothes, we men were treated to tri-tip and beach volleyball.
Later that night all the guys and girls met up at a sweet house over looking all of SB, with views out to the Channel Islands. To say the view is gorgeous is still an understatement.
One of the highlights of the evening was a chef they had hired to do a live lobster demonstration(appetizers). The guy talked too much and we were all trying to sneak bread here and there to hold us over. By the end of it all we ate dinner and then had appetizers? It was fun and very creative to do for a party.
The next morning Shell and I snuck away for a walk on the beach. The weather was perfect! When we got back to the house we had a great breakfast with our friends and their family. It felt very much like a wedding type of weekend. Both of us were very glad we were able to make it to the festivities and share a special moment in our friends lives.

looks like a great weekend! Can't wait to see you in a few weeks!
looks like fun! I used to live on the same street as DJ (before he lived there). I loved waking up to that view and miss it!! Also, FYI the new job here is great!
Which view was gorgeous? Toward the Ocean? Or Shelley? :)
