Pink slips came today!

The funny part is they weren't even pink!  Today at 1pm the district called a special "meeting" for about 20 teachers at our school.  As we gathered in the staff room people joked as much as they could to keep it light and fend off the true feelings of uneasiness.  Truth is, we have known they were coming and I think everyone has been trying to prepare for it as best they could.  

My favorite quote that the district rep said was, "The reality is that some of our best and most dynamic teachers are sitting around this table right now, and no matter how awesome you are and how much you put into your job, it comes down to a hire date." You gotta love being part of a union! 

On a positive note we are optimistic that things will work out in the end.  We may not be teaching but faith tells us all will be good.  James 1 talks about the testing of our faith producing perseverance.  We are all for our faith growing, even if it must come in hard times.  Both of us are at peace with everything going on and feel at a place of trust in God.
