"Lanyards, lanyards, classy sophisticated lanyards!"
We all know that Shelley likes to make jewelry like necklaces and bracelets. For the past three months she has been selling her stylish lanyards by word of mouth at school and in the school district. She has become quite famous amongst fashion chic teachers. It really is a great idea as many women have to wear these things in the workplace to hold name badges. Women make style out of everything else, so why not lanyards? Anyhow, all these sales have led to the idea of doing a craft fair. So yesterday we found ourselves sitting at a booth at a local elementary school's craft fair selling lanyards. (trying to sell lanyards that is)
We sat there from 3:30 until 6:00 with not one sale. There wasn't even really any serious interest. Finally we gave in to boredom and the call of a friends surprise party and decided to pack it up. We got the table completely packed up and guess what happens? Yup, Shell made her first two sales! That pretty much paid for the spot in the fair and for the new lessons learned in capitalism. Needless to say we were thrilled to get to the party!
If only people would give you money for being cute and making cute things! I would have bought them all from her if I wore stuff like that.

They are cute! If I had the need for one, I might buy one. However, in the life of a wedding planner, lanyards rarely make an appearance. Maybe I'll get one for my sister for christmas though... she's a teacher :)
